My mother always said I liked to draw, My memory is of playing a lot of baseball, but years later when I began to paint after finishing graduate school in social work, bright colors and strong shadows immediately emerged. My history of living in East Los Angeles then the suburbs, road trips to Mexico City and later my own growing family became the subjects of my artwork. Primarily self taught, I work to show bits of life that draw my attention. The process is what draws me to the work and the challenge to complete each piece.
