We'd like to welcome and introduce our New and Returning volunteers to ArtSpan and our NEW Volunteer Program that will track and quantify volunteer hours to qualify to win prizes and special recognition in return for service and support. You'll learn about Artspan, how it is important to the Bay Area art scene and how you can be an ArtSpan advocate. We will clearly outline Artspan's volunteer policies and procedures as well as the perks and rewards for volunteering with ArtSpan. Drinks & light snacks will be served before and after the orientation to mix and mingle with the staff and meet others on our volunteer team.

Join ArtSpan for figure drawing at Huckleberry Bicycles! We'll take turns sketching one another doing short poses with bicycles and other props from within the store.
Light snacks and beverages will be served, and ArtSpan will provide sketch books and drawing materials for those who need them. Pencils, pens, charcoal, and small watercolor sets are acceptable. Watch the best-of-the-best think on their toes, as ArtSpan and Z Space bring together visual artists and improv sketch performers for this third annual collaborative event. First, we’ll have our teams of artists create works-on-the-fly. Then, we’ll unleash some of the Bay Area’s funniest sketch comedians to interpret the art (and entertain all of us). Hilarity will ensue! Between rounds, there will be plenty of time to mix and mingle and grab a drink.

Experienced ArtSpan Artists will be present to give you the inside scoop on how to produce a successful SF Open Studio event this Fall. Bring food to share and your questions to ask about Fall Open Studios. We will bring refreshments AND the answers to your questions. Meet other artists, share info and tips, and help us kick-off preparations for this Fall’s Open Studios. Wear sunscreen and comfy clothes, and please note this is an alcohol-free event.
