ArtSpan provides emerging and established artists with diverse opportunities to display their artwork to new art appreciators and seasoned collectors throughout the year.

Art-in-Neighborhoods Exhibitions:

The Art-In-Neighborhoods program strives to create visibility and accessibility for local art by connecting communities with local artists and activating vacant spaces with vibrant artwork. We partner with neighborhood businesses and building owners to bring pop-up art exhibitions and art events to dormant storefronts, empty spaces for lease, and businesses seeking artwork for their walls. Local artists who are ArtSpan members are given the opportunity to display, promote and sell their artwork in these diverse venues. The Art-in-Neighborhoods program allows otherwise unused properties/spaces to become creative arenas for celebrating local arts. Learn more about the program on our Art-in-Neighborhoods page and see below for current Art-in-Neighborhoods Exhibitions.

SF Open Studios Exhibition:

The SF Open Studios Exhibition at SOMArts Cultural Center showcases over 400 artists' work each year during October and November, organized by SF Open Studios weekend and neighborhood. Hung salon-style, the artwork is a preview of what you will discover when visiting studios on the upcoming weekends. Grab a Guide, mark your favorites artists, and start on your own self-guided art adventure. Find more information about SF Open Studios here.
