ArtSpan Onondaga Art Center Fundraising Campaign

Establishing a permanent home and art center will greatly increase ArtSpan’s effectiveness and reach. Having our own space will allow us to amplify our efforts all over the city and all over the region.

We are looking for visionary patrons to help us reach our goal of one million dollars to establish the center.  Will you be one of them?

See our levels and benefits below.

We have three phases of fundraising:

Phase 1 - COMPLETE

Goal: $250,000

Laying the groundwork.  Refining the plans.

We are already well along in our planning, but there is much to do. Contracts to review, renovation plans to finalize, and of course, we are still going full steam ahead with all of our regular programing.  We need money in the bank before we can engage our contractor.

Phase 1 culminates with the start of renovation on Onondaga Ave.

Phase 2 - In Progress

Goal: $500,000

Restoration and build-out

This is the meatiest part when the property will transform from its existing state to our space! We can’t wait to see what some work and love can do to bring this building back to life. Besides construction work, this phase will cover furniture and fixtures, and all the things that will make our space functional and welcoming.

Phase 2 culminates with opening the doors to the public (2023).

Phase 3

Goal: $250,000

Move-in and launching new programs

Now the real fun begins! In this phase, we will start to stretch out into new opportunities, by bringing on building related staff and services, launching regular programming, and promoting events.

Founder levels

Keepers of the Flame

We are creating a permanent art installation, “Keepers of the Flame”, in the building to recognize our early supporters.  The theme refers to the building's placement on Onondaga Avenue.  The Onondaga people are one of the five original tribes of the Native American Iroquois nation and are considered the "Keepers of the Flame". Honoring this resilient people, we will carry the torch of San Francisco's creative class into the future.

This sculpture, being designed by ArtSpan Artist Rebecca Fox, will feature the names of our key funders.

Studio Patrons

Would you like a workspace named in your honor or in honor of someone you love or admire?  We have a limited number of renewable naming rights available for our affordable art studios.  Studio names will be featured on artist-designed plaques at the studios.  Retired name plaques will remain in the building's community spaces.

$15,000

Thinking Bigger?

If you would like to discuss naming rights for our gallery or classroom space, we'd be happy to talk to you!

To join us as a Founder, please contact Executive Director, Joen Madonna, and we will set up a time to answer your questions and customize your giving plan.
