When I paint, I use vibrant, bold colors and designs because that's the way life feels to me. In all the weird variety of subjects in my art, I am striving to capture the essence of a thing. I use strong visual language to express ideas of freedom, joy, power and connectedness. To the task of exploration using visual imagery, I bring tenderness, intimacy and intensity. Spare me from mere mark making! Rather, my search is for that magical, that mysterious undefined "thing" that results in the astonished exclamation from a viewer that they get it and that we are briefly connected for a gorgeous moment.
