I invent adornments and talismans for real and imagined characters and settings. Finding inspiration in medieval armor and ritual objects from around the world, I investigate fashion, fiction, and feminist pop-culture heroines. Drawing on history and fantasy, I might consider what Joan of Arc would wear on the streets of Brooklyn, or the chest plate a punk-rock warrior goddess from the future dons for battle.

I collect, assemble, and layer materials, enjoying the playful space that exists between two and three-dimensional objects, between found and handmade. I live with the work until I feel I get it “right,” seeking to evoke a gesture of something unnameable, but specific, from my influences. The rest of the story can fall away.
