About 2 years ago, when on one of my photography 'walkabouts', I came across a decrepit building in the Mission. It had stood empty for years and over time had been covered and re-covered with graffiti and rogue posters. On that first sighting a piece of wall treatment dangling close to the ground measuring maybe 5x7 inches caught my eye - and 'Blood Red' was the first photograph taken there. The piece of wall treatment has since disappeared as has most of the material I initially photographed, only to be replaced over time by something new! I have re-visited the building at least once a week since my first visit, and these images are the result of those visits. Much of the subject matter measures in inches. With very few exceptions my Lightroom tweaking of the images has been minimal, pretty much limited to what can be done with film in the darkroom.
