Artist Mary Lonergan creates work that triggers a strong emotional response. Her use of vibrant color and movement designs an essential exchange between the art and viewer.
Her first public exhibition was at the Florence Biennale in 2007 and since then, Mary has been featured in numerous exhibits including OpenArtCode in London, Monaco and Paris.
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area where she resides and paints in her studio, Mary is heavily involved in the local art scene. She is part of the Outreach Team at ArtSpan where she works to support public engagement events and panel discussions; Curate ArtSpan’s Open Collections events and other collector education events and engage new audiences across all of ArtSpan’s programs.
Mary believes strongly in the curative properties of art and is grateful to those who unveil themselves through that process. Her influences include Maria Lassnig, Peter Max, Wolf Kahn and many others.
“I believe my best work has a sound or movement to it that communicates to the core of the viewer” ~ Mary Lonergan
