Bits and pieces of ephemera that often have a thematic basis in literature, history or personal experience find their way into my work. A monoprint may soon include an etching or an etching become part of a collage. Whether light and whimsical or imbued with the darker side, a narrative quality usually runs through it. Arranging space and objects within that space through color, line and form to elicit a response may best describe my fascination with the world of art. Mark Rothko, Edward Hopper, Hannelore Baron, Richard Tuttle, Cy Twombly and John Cage are of great interest to me. Tuttle speaks of going beyond yourself;  Cage talks of everything falling away until (if you are lucky) even you leave.
