Kecya Felix
Kecya Felix is a multimedia artist who brings together installation, performance and photography. Pulvis Solaris (2018) is a mixed-media piece blending a photograph printed on infused glass and paint on metal leaf. The photograph was taken from one of Kecya’s room installations called Salt Garden, where since 2015 she has been cultivating and documenting the process of crystallization in containers with salt and water:
Mixing substances of nature and ready-made objects, I look for new emerging forms. Recently I’ve been exploring substances and objects such as salt, water, stones, popcorn, containers, mirrors. My work is in the majority experimental, which is how I find the most freedom and imagination to play with. The results can take various forms, such as performance, immersive spaces, non-objects, mixed media, video photography. Salt as a crystal is a mineral soluble and solid at the same time. Also, it is the very form described as the body by alchemists, a fundamental substance for the creation of life itself.”
