I like to think my work embodies an atomic exuberance—a playful reflection of nature’s geometry. In each of my sculptural layered pieces, I attempt to capture complimentary contrasts: light and shadow, luster and texture, asymmetry and balance. Each piece of jewelry is constructed by hand using traditional metalsmithing techniques. I use custom-made hammers and other tools to create unique patterns and textures on the surface of the metal. When working, I am invariably absorbed and captivated by the gradual process of creation unfolding, as a piece begins to take shape; I never tire of the thrill of making something tangible, permanent, enduring. I continually challenge myself to create jewelry that will delight and engage the wearer.
