Eleanor Scholz uses hand tools to create meticulous wood burnings that are rich with ornate detail and geometric designs. She aims to provoke a primal human impulse to hold such designs reverent, creating works that are meant to inspire introspection, and illumination. Through her process she explores ideas of fate and the unknown destination, often relying on in-the-moment decision making to determine the direction and shape each piece will take.
