I've found the literal board-paper-thread-glue-ink-word-story essence of the book offers a unique platform to cut into, build onto and burst out of in both two and three dimensional forms. The dual function of the book as a visual object as well as a conduit for ideas is a source of constant inspiration.

I primarily re-purpose books picked up at thrift stores & yard sales or donated to me by librarians and other individuals. All cutting is done by hand using exacto blades and a ulitlity knife. I often incorporate what I refer to as cutting-room-floor poetry - words culled from the books during the creative process and then brought together in a new narrative path.

As a whole, I refer to my ongoing altered books series as The Dissected Library.
