Robert Douglas

Sixty-three years have gone by since I first picked up a paint brush. I can't imagine not painting and now that old age is upon me,painting is what keeps me sane(if I am)and happy.
My goal in art is to combine abstract design with realistic details in a manner compatible with both. My influences include Hieronymus Bosch,Rene Magritte,Attilio Salemme,Pablo Picasso and Stuart Davis. My work incorperates everyday moments, naked people, created textures, vivid color and eccentric forms, all presented with a love of the grotesque and absurd.
