Duncan Dobson
Hello! My name is Duncan Dobson and I am an artist living in South San Francisco, California. I was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and grew up on the SF Peninsula. As an artist, I mostly work in three main media, namely painting, writing and food. In the past I have produced some sound art as well (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo_RKwZTesqstLDsxpFV4HA), but I haven't done any sound work in a number of years. Also, the food thing is kind of stalled out at the moment. Here is a page of some of my books: http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/ddobson. The medium that is most relevant here would seem to be painting. I have been painting seriously since 1997. This is not to say that I have painted a lot since then, only that I began to take my own painting seriously at that time. In my life, painting has gone from being a curiosity to an interest to an irresistible drive. I am very mindful of tradition. Andy Warhol is my favorite painter, but I also like Mark Rothko.
