My new work is a series of landscapes that I call "The Utopia Project". A utopia is an imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect. These oil paintings are of places I’ve been and places I want to go. They are about the spiritual journey of travel, memory and what draws us to a place. These paintings, while of places, are also a reflection of my soul- an expression of the divine. My interests: 1. The spaces that connect our souls to each other. 2. How was Vincent Van Gough so in love with Japan though he was never there? 3. The aspects I notice about a landscape vs what another person notices.
