Color is an essential aspect both in my painting process and in the final state of the work. For many years I lived in countries such as Yemen, Colombia, Myanmar and Canada before moving to San Francisco in 1992. Through traveling and residing in such varied places, my vision became sensitive to the different rhythms, lights, emotions, and moods one may feel while hiking in nature, or walking in cities, or just by having immersed in different cultures. My works resists specificity, leaving open to interpretation its dream-like landscapes, undefined color field, and potential meanings.
