With glowing colors and shifts in scale, my work calls into question what is real and what is imagined. I construct my own miniature urban landscapes, and photograph the scenes as they are transformed by my interventions. A landscape might be overtaken by glittering crystals, or a Jell-O cityscape will collapse from decay. I often take these otherworldly scenes, make them larger-than-life, and insert them back into the cityscape as outdoor or indoor murals—bringing viewers into a whimsical and wondrous space and introducing some magic into their day.
