I was born and raised on a small town farm in Nebraska until the age of 8. We were in jeopardy of losing the family farm so my dad enlisted in the army and we got immediately stationed to Germany! I felt that the rug was pulled out from under me as it was super difficult being a shy and introverted kid, being pulled away from everything she had known.
I got to experience the slower & simple farm life, to then living in a bustling city and being surrounded by European culture.
When I create I like to use vintage items such as used books, newspapers from around the world or scraps of paper and tear them as it represents my life being torn from moving around so much.
But then I create a subject over the collage such as people and places from around the world. I want to create art that inspires people to experience something new and get a different perspective. To help others value their personal journey and inspire them with my journey.
