I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. I seem to have a gift for it -- my mother did. Making art is a way to tell stories, in new ways or traditional. It is also a way of creating my own world, a world that is sensuous, warm and wholesome. I have learned to look at the dark side -- there' s plenty of that in the myths and ancient scriptures -- but always in the effort to understand those imperfect creatures. When in doubt, make a still life and always paint for the painting. I'm still learning this.
