With a love of the unexpected beauty that transcends everyday life, my abstract paintings explore the humanist concept of aesthetics that express and illuminate the human spirit. Using luminous color and ethereal forms to create compelling compositions, I improvise abstractions that are meant to resonate with viewers through a sense of the beautiful in life.
In the spirit of experimental discovery, I practice the technique of abstract improvisation, a spontaneous yet contemplative approach to painterly expression born of abstract expressionism. Using gestural brushwork with the flowing elegance of fluid acrylic pigment, the process is a visual meditation on aesthetics colored with insights and notions of the moment. It's alchemy of a certain sort, working with intuition and materials in a way that have no certain outcome. For me the process is a journey into the mysteries of creativity.
