I truly love line and color. I am currently working with ink, watercolor and colored pencil for a series entitled "The Poem Mosaics." In this collection, the text of a self-authored meditation is outlined onto the substrate, creating a fractured image. And that fracture is then colorized with either colored pencils or watercolors. I believe this series has resulted in some luminous and mesmerizing pieces, ten of which are presented here.
My intention is to send a gentle ripple of healing energy to an ailing planet and its tenants. And, thus far, I am pleased by their reception.
Ben Shahn, Laurel Burch, Stuart Davis and Romare Bearden lead the pack of a multitude of inspirational mentors. The energies of the San Francisco/ Bay Area art community sustain me.
