Leonard Breger (1920-2013), Who had early recognition showing his art at the De Young in 1962. He was a Bay Area artist & art teacher for over 60 years. In the late 60s he started producing "cut-shape" art which was sometimes serious, but often diverged into humor, or was both at the same time. His cut-shape mode went from abstract white pieces in the 80s to full color figurative in 1990 to the end of his life, with side excursions into other media. He married Beth Pewther in 1975.

Artist Beth Pewther (a.k.a. Liz Breger) married Leonard Breger, Bay Area artist & teacher  in 1975. Leonard had early art recognition showing his work at the De Young in 1962. In the late 60s he started producing "cut-shape" art which was sometimes serious but often diverged into humor. Over the next 60+ years his cut-shape mode went from abstract white pieces in the 80s to full color figurative work in 1990 to the end of his life (1920-2013).  Beth & Leonard marrried & moved into 80 Bronte St., Jan. 1976. Beth tiled the house Gaudi-style in the mid-80s. Like friend Bruce Conner, she was part of the "Wichita Vortex migration", (1958-1962). In addition to the house tiling, Beth has done painting, collage, mixed media, art clothing, soft sculpture and photo work.
