Artist Statement:

Feminine agent provocateur aroused by socio-political feminist themes, I create provocative images juxtaposing innocence and seduction. Inspired by socio-political feminist themes.

Having read books on the global trafficking issue; it came to my attention that it was occurring locally as well as on reservations with Native American women and girls. Being a woman of multiracial and predominantly Native American heritage I was compelled to create a series dealing with this topic.

The figurative work incorporates my love of drawing in graphite pencil with expressive dripping and splashing of acrylic inks on paper. I include collaged elements of symbols or news stories related to the topic of sex trafficking; creating them to be aesthetically pleasing to draw the viewer in.

I was compelled to create this body of work to expose the injustice of sex trafficking of indigenous women and girls, which we rarely hear about. I aim to give the women voice and create public dialogue.
