Artist Statement

My work is born from a curiosity, where I approach each project without knowing how it will begin or end. I've been creating these shapes for the last 10 years, learning how to express whatever comes up and out onto the canvas. Each shape is like a question that takes on new dimensions, transforming mistakes into unexpected possibilities and depth. I never know where my pieces are going to go; each piece becomes an extension and takes on a life and meaning all its own. Awareness of the process is an unending source of energy for me. When I am creating, all my senses are spinning. I keep my ear tuned to the materials and focus on my present creation.

Upon completion, each piece is born into the eyes of you, the viewer, and to the perspective of your world. This unique relationship with my art is what now defines each piece. My intention is to encourage others’ innate creativity to become present and alive as a result of having an experience with my work.
