Artist Statement

I’ve hitchhiked around the world, lived in Japan, and worked for years in IT in corporations and dotcoms.  Always, I’ve done something with art, from weaving and silkscreening to illustrating training lessons.  Eventually I started taking drawing lessons, dropped it and ten years later picked it up again and discovered I’ve found a home working with ink and acrylic inks on paper. 

Drawing roosters intrigues and challenges me – so many colors, varieties, personalities and pliability for exaggeration and symbolism – I learn a lot and it gives me a thrill when they come to life.
