Ecological relationships of life forms are the fundamental interests of my work. My primary focus is creating unknown hybrid forms that unfold beyond our observational boundary. The energy, surprise, beauty, and mystery of visual fantasies in my work infuse with a sense of evolution and peaceful co-existence.
My recent work, ‘Ulterior’ and ‘Paper Stroke’, relies on my own methodology, complexity (the process) within simplicity (the final surface). I interplay digital processes with conventional artistic medium. In my studio, miniature animal like figurines are casually formed with clay. Then these figurines are photographed and digitally manipulated into the fantasy of transformation. Subsequently, the digital images are transferred onto either wood panel or paper. Simultaneously, I oscillate between the virtual and physical steps to amplify the images. These stepwise processes are vital to precisely eliminate, build on, layer, simplify, and hybrid the forms to create the complexity within simplicity in my work.
