Artist Statement

In my paintings I try to make concrete the ephemeral aspects of nature: the piercing cry of an eagle, the hum of a hummingbird's wings, the delicate texture of a parsley sprig, the color of thyme. I work in acrylics, building up luminous color through dozens of glazes.
