I was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. My original exposure to and appreciation of art began very early as I grew up in a family of working painters, sculptors and design professionals. In recent years, I have been studying cold and warm glass techniques in the Bay Area. While I often work with fused glass, and have recently begun studying glass blowing, much of my artwork is created via traditional leaded glass. My work includes intricate copper foil pieces, leaded panels, and unique photographic collaborations with my wife Sandra Masae Kawano.
