Artist Statement

My work is figurative mixed media paintings and sculpture using oil, acrylic, beeswax, resin and collage. I work with open ended narrative that serves as a record for the subtle impressions left in my memory. There are things to which I am inexplicably drawn: birds, deer, rabbits, people dreams, emotional response, words, poems and songs. A question I ask is , "what is the essential encounter in my life?" Searching for the answer I make a piece and another and another. The question is never answered.... the work is a visual record of these encounters.
